As part of the Youth for a Clean Adriatic project funded by Beyond plastic Med and the Prince Albert II Foundation of Monaco for the Kotor Festival of Children’s Theater, the first installation was designed to highlight plastic pollution and environmental problems such as primarily the sea. The installation was made by the skilled hands of the local town Mijo Milovanovic and the installation was completed by the young hardworking hands of the volunteers of the NGO Our action and the Kotor Festival of Children’s Theater. In the 18th International Kotor summer carnival, youth volunteer of NGO Our action tried again in a creative way to raise awareness to the topic of plastic pollution of the sea with a mask called “Angry Poseidon”. This organization thru the project “Youth for a clean Adriatic” has in a large way drawn attention of the public thru art, various installations and coastal clean up actions to this global problem by acting locally. The carnival mask describes Poseidon, the god of the sea, who angrily reacts to the plastic in his waters and the people polluting. He is carrying a trident that pierces a bottle of worlds largest polluter of plastic bottles. The rest of the team of NGO Our action supported the organization of the carnival. Three organizations, NGO Our action, SUP4ME and Ne bacajte boce, in joint forces realized another coastal clean-up activity as part of our project “Youth for a clean Adriatic”. From primarily plastic waste the coast of the island of flowers and the island of Saint Marco where cleared using SUP boards for transportation. The last of the workshops for the children volunteer club as part of the 27th Kotor festival for children was held on the 12th of jun, and was dedicated to the protection of the sea from pollution. Children participated in the Havaiian water ceremony for the protection of the sea, wrote messages onto leaves and let them into the water. Some of the messages “Stop polluting”, “Stop plastic in the sea”, “The sea is our life”, decorated many leaves and showed the hopes of children for a plastic free ocean. After the ceremony the children visited the Dragon spitting plastic installation with the youth educators from NGO Our action. This educational activity was part of the project “Youth for a clean Adriatic” financed by Beyond plastic Med and the foundation of Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Well, small but valuable group of young NGOs Our action yesterday cleared Gurdic of waste and plastics and cleared lower levels of vegetation from the ramparts. The action has been made on our popular SUP plastic bottle bottles that anyone can make and thus recycle plastic bottles and give them another purpose. Volunteers from the Kotor Festival of Children’s Theater and the NGO Our Action realized a youth working weekend for the design of the space for the upcoming festival. During this two-day activity, the following activities were accomplished: 1. cleaning the workshop, 2. arranging a small info office, 3. arranging and cleaning Nautical workshops for children and children, 4. cleaning and arranging yards for visiting theater and youth, 5. flooded ramparts , 6. planted plants, 7. marketing cavalry set up, 8. banners set up, 9. Fish installation repaired and installed, 10. washed 240 of the 560 chairs used for Kotor Art (the rest will be finished), 11. water donations transferred . We thank all the young people for their hard work and hard work in this action. We also thank Waste management company of Kotor for the expeditious waste relationship we created during the action. On June 9, 2019, NGO Our Action celebrated World Environment Day as well as World Ocean Day with environmental action in Tivat / Herceg Novi Municipality. This action is the third activity in the “Young for a clean Adriatic” project sponsored by Beyond plastic Med and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The action was joined by young people from the organization “Do not throw bottles” from Herceg Novi and other citizens. 30 volunteers collected 180 bags of waste into 120L bags, mostly plastic bottles, shoes, styrofoam, and other plastic bottles and materials, from one beach only.
