Walking tour to Captain’s Lake

Team for all weather conditions! Yesterday we had a field action tour of Captain’s Lake to the delight of our volunteers. Although it was quite cold and windy (the temperature did not exceed 10C °), the desire for the natural beauties of Lukavica was decisive. The autumn colors made the admiration for nature even greater, so we enjoyed this walk at every moment. We will surely return to Captain’s Lake in the spring, when the snow starts to melt and when strong waterfalls start. Join us for some of the activities, be an active team! This activity is part of the EED program called “Nature for the mental and physical health of young people”

Humanitarian action for the Orbović family

In the past two weeks, we have organized two humanitarian actions to raise funds for a single mother, Oliver Orbović. She lives with her four daughters in Žabljak Crnojević with a monthly income of 120 euros. That is exactly the obstacle to receiving social assistance. Since her husband passed away, Oliver’s already difficult life, due to his illnesses, has become even more difficult. “I was left alone with my children. I am aware that life here is difficult anyway, especially when the children are still raising, “she told PCNEN. Oliver’s only income is 120 euros, her husband’s inherited pension, due to which she cannot receive social assistance or any other from the state. We will keep the Orbović family in mind for the next humanitarian activities, for which we will inform the general public in a timely manner. This action would not be possible without our friends and students from the @ arcadia_academi_montenegro school, as well as the citizens of Tivat. Thanks!

International Coastal Cleaning Day.

By cleaning the coast, Bigova marked the International Day of Coast Cleaning! ?
.
The NGO Naša akcija together with a team of students from the Arcadia school and the locals of Bigova today marked the International Day of Cleaning the Coast of this small fishing village. With the team work of participants and locals who met for the first time, and enthusiastically cooperated, 40 bags of 120 liters of waste were collected, of course most of the plastic packaging, a total of 225 kg!
The International Clean Coast Day is organized by @ zero.waste.montenegro in cooperation with @nvo_nasa_akcija, and under the auspices of the EU Delegation to Montenegro, the Ministry of Ecology, Urbanism and Spatial Planning, the EU Info Center, Beyond Plastic, the MED Association and the Prince Albert II Foundation, through project “Youth for a clean Adriatic”. At the local level, as every year so far, the action is supported by the Tourist Organization of Kotor and the Utility Company Kotor.
“We thank everyone who came out to meet us and helped us to mark this day, and leave this wonderful place for swimming in a beautiful condition. We appeal to the Utility Company Kotor to return the container that was in this location until 2019 and thus perhaps motivate bathers and other visitors to dispose of waste at an appropriate location. ” says the Organizational Manager of the NGO Naša akcija Vuk Koljenšić.

Our action in the project “Ulcinj coast without plastic”

MSJA – Dr. Martin Schneider-Jacoby within the project “Ulcinj coast without plastic”, funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit – GIZ, organized a three-day event called “REuse_REduce_REcycle”, and consisted of presentations, workshops and exhibitions of sculptures .
The idea of the final activity on this project is the desire to together with beach tenants (Pacha Kitesurf Beach, Dolcinium Kitesurf Beach, Ka´banya Kitesurf Beach) draw the attention of all beach users to the impact of plastic on the environment with a focus on the coast, and to more actively involve all stakeholders to reduce the use of plastics in order to completely eliminate plastics and soon Ulcinj coast becomes Plastic free. The exhibition contains 6 sculptures and 4 installations created by young activists of the NGO Our Action with the active participation of MSJA volunteers and all participants in this event. The opening ceremony of the exhibition “Under the clear sky” was attended by the mayor of Ulcinj, Mr. Aleksnadar Dabovic, who also officially opened this exhibition, as well as representatives of the media and NGO sector and citizens who showed support for this project. The exhibits we set up at Pacha Surf Beach were already accompanied by the enthusiasm and participation of visitors on the day of the set-up. The sculptures will be on display at PachaSurf Beach until August 23, 2021.
