This very cold and windy morning we spend today on Mount Gorica assisting our partners, the Union of Gorica lovers, to celebrate their 200th activity at this location. With us in the activity was the Greening department of Podgorica as well as the Podgorica Waste management company and other NGOs. In the same time this activity was our last activity of 2019 in which we completed 131 actions, which is a new record for NGO Our action. With our members and volunteers we supported clean up actions, humanitarian actions, cultural and sport events, completed projects, educated and much more. Thanks to all the volunteers who participated and to the Union of Gorica lovers for keeping this location fantastic for all to enjoy.

On Monday, October 28, the first phase of refreshment of the playgrounds and spaces at the Old Airport near the Health Center was initiated, across from bus stop 7 & 8. NGO Our action volunteers managed to paint wooden benches, and swing frame as well as a metal bench and football goal frames before the afternoon school shift. Most of this inventory was set up by volunteers from the NGO Our action already in 2013 and needed to be refreshed. We have also received a seedling donation so the next phase will involve planting and assembling the swings. In the meantime, we learn from the Greening department that they have applied for funds for a large playground to be built on this site. In the hope that it will not be wooden but other materials, we wish the children of this area to finally get a quality durable playground that will last as long as the structures that are now in the area. A Donor Day was held today at the premises of the Youth Educational Center in Baston, Podgorica. This is the first such activity that NGO Our Action has accomplished and we have helped 25 families on this day. Young volunteers (and their families) contributed not only to the event itself, but also donated and collected clothing, shoes, toys and furniture before the event. We plan to implement similar activity in October in Kotor. This day made the most happy children who were delighted to get home with their new toys, bags and cases. Today, 22.10.2019 a small but valuable group of volunteers joined the Association of Gorica Lovers in the action of cleaning and fire protection of the southern slope of the Gorica Hill towards Gymnasium and KIC Budo Tomovic where pine and other fallen and dry vegetation are very close to the residences. area. On Wednesday, September 11, a charity music evening was held at Independence Square in Podgorica for little John Cenic, who needed funds to cure cerebral palsy. With a rich music program put together by our young volunteer Jana Raicevic, many townspeople joined in the dance and fun. Enjoyed by the little ones as well as the oldest, 634.69 Euros were collected. This is the third action organized by the NGO Our Action for Jovan in hopes of raising enough money to cure him.

For the second year in a row, NGO Our Action provided volunteer support to the Boka sprint triathlon held in Perast on Sunday, 8th of September. Volunteers from a number of different cities got up in the very early morning hours to travel to the event and to support our partners from the Kotor Triathlon Club. This year, for the first time, our organization had a registered team of three members – Filip Drobnjak, Dejan Besovic who finished fourth in their category, and Slavo Bozovic who won first place. Congratulations to our participants on their success. Volunteers enjoyed the day in Perast, which of course include swimming, socializing and meeting new people. Our volunteers where lead by youth coordinator Dusan Vukadinovic.

On Friday, August 30, the 5th humanitarian dance evening was held on the Muo waterfront. This year’s charity event, at the discretion of organizers Muo municipality and the NGO Our Action, was organized in honor of Jovan Cenic, a young boy who is the only person from Kotor on the Be Human Foundation list and who needs help treating cerebral palsy. 358 Euros were raised. The dance party brought together many citizens of all generations, Yugo-nostalgics and those who are not, but all enjoyed the performance of City band, the phenomenal Exodus group and flashmob dances of young volunteers, as well as a gourmet seafood pasta prepared by young volunteers. The sponsors of this event are TO Kotor and Rogo fruit doo. Through this activity, young people learned how to organize a humanitarian event and how important it is to help their fellow citizens. Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to the success of this wonderful event. A special thank you goes to the Waste management company of Kotor, which mowed and washed the waterfront, and donated funds for the treatment of boys

On Saturday, the 18thof May on the coast of Risan, the X-Water Montenegro competition was born. NGO Our action had the honor to be a part of this competition and help in the organization of this event. The competitor swam at a distance of 1 mile, 4.5 km and 7 km on from the area of Perast by the Island of Our Lady of the Rock to Risan with big currents, waves and rain, and very low water temperatures. Volunteers on kayaks and SUP boards also battled bad weather conditions with waves, wind, rain and cold. The second part of the volunteers conquered new registration procedures, refreshment table, pulling competitors out of the water and much more. The positive energy, euphoria and success was felt in the air especially on the finish line. This competition is also the first where volunteers where called on the stage and received a award. We will not forget this unforgettable experience. See you next year.

On Friday the 19th of April youth volunteers of NGO Our action organized a humanitarian musical evening for baby Melek on the main square in Podgorica. Leading the organization of this event was logistics manager Jana Raicevic. 754 Euros was collected for the child, as it needs immediate surgery/transplantation in Italy since she was born without some vital organs. More activities will be organized in other towns and at high schools all across Montenegro. Donations can also be me made ono their bank account 510 170 496 245 000 944 in the name of Enver Agusevski. Thank you to all who helped in the organization and donated for this baby.

Volunteers of NGO Our action visited the Retirement home in Bijelo polje on Saturday, March 23rd and spend the day with the senior citizens of the home. This is our yearly traditional visit to the home and it is a true pleasure for the residence as well as our volunteers to spend time together talking, laughing and reminising. NGO Our action signed a agreement of cooperation with the home already in 2017 and this way we are also getting people from Kotor and Bijelo Polje together. The agreement focuses on a better environment and living conditions for retirees which is something in prevous years we work on together by cleaning and planting the area around the home.
