Youth teaches youth: Why be a volunteer?

On Friday, October 29, at the elementary school “Drago Milović” in Tivat, the young NGO Naša akcija had another opportunity to talk to 8th and 9th grade students about volunteerism. Workshop “Youth teaches youth: Why be a volunteer?” was held in a small hall in the presence of a large number of young people, and the lecture was given by the executive director Dejan Besović with members Dejan Vujković, Nina Marković and Milica Ružić. Workshops were held in two separate hours to comply with the measures. The presentations were joined by the representative of the Youth Team Tivat, Nemanja Bošković, who presented the work and activities of this informal youth organization so far. This activity is organized with the support of the European endowment for democracy.

What leadership means and why the best students are not leaders

In the premises of the NGO Naša akcija, in Njegoševa 9 in Podgorica, an introductory workshop “What does leadership mean and why light bearers are not leaders” was held. This workshop is the introductory part of the hands on leadership school for which applications run from November 1st to 5th. In the introductory workshop, we talked about the concept of leadership, focused on the elementary concepts and skills that leaders have, as well as the often misconception that light bearers are leaders. The workshop was held by Patricia Pobrić, Master of Organizational Leadership, and the school was supported by the European Endowment for Democracy. Details of the application process will be announced soon.

Sundial making workshop

On Tuesday, October 19, we had the opportunity to host Milan Poko Mijajlović, who introduced us to how time is calculated using a sundial. Also, after some interesting things, we had the opportunity to do one type of training that we will transfer from theory to practice next month. Dolphins: blue engineers of Montenegro

On Tuesday, October 12. th at our organization’s premises we had the opportunity to host a team from @dmadfornature that presented us with their work.The aim of DMAD is to raise scientific and public awareness to identify and locate habitat problems and carry out actions to preserve sea biodiversity in Levantine and Adriatic Sea.Their goal is to implement effective conservation strategies, support citizen science, raise environmental awareness and use research and knowledge to create healthy ecosystem management skills.This event is supported by European Endowment for Democracy.

Bicycle repair workshop

As part of the European Mobility Week, and with the financial support of the European Endowment for Democracy and with the support of the Municipality of Tivat and the Youth Team Tivat, yesterday we organized a bicycle repair workshop, through “Life skills” activities.
As the workshop spontaneously took place repairing bicycles, mounting tires, lubricating belts, so we continued to the Open-Air Library where people at the bicycle repair workshop brought books as their own donation! We can say that yesterday we did two activities in one together

Boka heritage: The tradition of wooden boats

Young people are still interested in old skills and heritage! In the workshop of Master Vitomir Vujović in Prčanj, a team of young people who wanted to attend a workshop on making wooden boats gathered to learn more about this old craft. This two-hour workshop included a lot of history, geometry, details about construction and materials, tradition and profession, and that knowledge was passionately passed on by Master Vitomir. After the lecture, the team present had numerous questions and showed great interest and respect for the details of this craft. This third workshop in a row within the program “Youth and Cultural Heritage” aims to encourage as many young people as possible to discover, research and get to know the traditions of Boka and its heritage, which was definitely achieved last night. This activity is organized with the support of the Municipality of Kotor and the European Endowment for Democracy in celebration of the European Heritage Day in 2021, and it has realized another measure of the Local Action Plan for the Youth of Kotor.

The workshop “Why we should all understand digital transformation” was held in the premises of #omladinskiklubkotor with the financial support of the Secretariat for Culture, Sports, Youth Kotor. Digitalisation evening

On Friday night at the Youth Club Kotor, we had the opportunity to host Draženka Laketić, the founder of the @insta_montenegro brand, recognizable in the world for the quality promotion of Montenegro to the general public. She introduced us to the concepts of digitalization and social networks and thus encouraged young people to have as many business ideas as possible that will eventually see the light of day with dedicated work and patience.
