NGO Our action continued their career guidance and counseling of young people program with the support of the European endowment for democracy. This time with a focus on writing cover letters. This document, the second most important in addition to the CV for employment applications, and is also required for applications for extracurricular education, Erasmus programs, scholarships and more. Training through the project “Youth for a clean Adriatic”

Last Friday, the NGO Our action continued with training within the project “Youth for a clean Adriatic”. Due to NKT measures, education is carried out in small groups, this time in the Youth Club in Kotor. The lecture “Blue Engineers of Montenegro” was given by scientists from the Association for Research of Aquatic Mammals, with which the NGO Our action signed a cooperation agreement, focusing on the economic and ecological importance of dolphins and the impact of plastic pollution on the marine ecosystem.

WORKSHOP HELD WITHIN THE YOUTH DRIVE PROJECT

As part of the cross-border project “YOUth DRIVE – a program to raise awareness on proper waste management and empowering legislators to act”, funded by the European Union, a workshop “Analysis of the situation and a set of recommendations on waste and pollution in the area of the West Herzegovina County and the Bay of Kotor ”. Patricia Pobrić (NGO Our action from Kotor) and Lucija Kvesić (Association for Development, Environment and Culture EKO ZH from Široki Brijeg) greeted the gathering in front of the project partners, who informed the participants about the results so far. Radoslav Udovicic, an expert in environmental protection, presented the analysis of illegal landfills and waste treatment in three Boka municipalities. Jozo Kolobarić, sociologist and eco activist, spoke about the impact of (un) awareness of citizens on the need for proper waste management with examples of positive practice. In the next two days, similar workshops will be organized in Tivat and Herceg Novi.

This week, NGO Our action marked its work on the project “Youth for a Clean Adriatic” through education. Due to the Covid measures, education was conducted in groups with young people in Podgorica and Kotor. In Kotor, the lecture “Blue Engineers of Montenegro” was given by scientists from the Association for Research on Aquatic Mammals, with which the NGO Our action signed a cooperation agreement, focusing on the economic and ecological importance of dolphins and the impact of plastic pollution on the marine ecosystem. The lecture was held in the eco-youth center “Muo house”, which was opened by the NGO Our action at this location in May 2019. In Podgorica, the lecture “Planet without waste” was held by the engineer, permaculture designer and professor at the “Slobodan Skerovic” High School, Aleksandrina Vujacic, with whom two more lectures are planned in cooperation with this project. The wonderful Green Classroom was given to us by friends from the Association of Gorica Lovers.

NGO Our action in Mreza za mlade CG

As one of the founders, our delegate Dejan Besovic participated in the founding session of the assembly #MrežaZaMladeCG. In addition to participating in the establishment of this new alliance of non-governmental organizations that will deal with the implementation of youth policy in Montenegro, our delegate Dejan Besovic was also named President of the Assembly of the Youth Network of Montenegro.

Kotor’s NGO Our action and Marine Mammals Research Association Sign Cooperation Agreement

August 27, 2020 – NGO Naša Akcija from Kotor and the Marine Mammals Research Association (DMAD) from Turkey, also with a branch in Radovići, signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday in Kotor. The contract was signed on behalf of the NGO by its Executive Director Patricia Pobrić, and on behalf of DMAD by Dr. Aylin Akkaya. The main aim of the cooperation is to connect young people with the association and its long-term research work in Montenegro through education and field work with scientists. This will be offered at various levels; firstly to students of biology and ecology, and then to high school and elementary school pupils. During the activities, young people will also have the opportunity to meet students in the same professions from other countries who both live and carry out research work in our country. The cooperation also aims to support the implementation of the project “Youth for a Clean Adriatic”, which Naša Akcija has been working on since May 2019, and which is supported by Beyond Plastic Med and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. By joining forces, the project aims to ensure a comprehensive approach to education on the problem of plastic and other marine waste pollution, as well as the impact of the pollution on wildlife.

“Info days” of the cross-border project “YOUth drive” held

Last week in Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi, the cross-border project “YOU thdrive – Program for raising awareness on proper waste management and empowering legislators for action” was presented, which is implemented within the IPA Cross-border Cooperation Program BiH – Montenegro, funded by Delegations of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina The project partners are non-governmental organizations, the Association for Development, Environment and Culture EKO ZH from Široki Brijeg as the project holder, and Naša akcija, a non-governmental organization from Montenegro, based in Kotor. actively contribute to the proper management of waste, and will work on the protection of waterways in the areas involved in the project activities.In cooperation with schools, the project will primarily affect the awareness of young people, who through their knowledge and action in the future should and act to raise awareness of the need to protect the environment.Also, the project will create a basis for improvement e and refinement of existing legislation in this area, and it is planned that the areas covered by the project will receive 287 bins for electronic waste, as well as 7 containers, which will be placed in the necessary places. Numerous schools are involved in the project through education for students from sixth to ninth grade, and for high school students. Through the project, it is planned to organize waste collection actions on identified illegal landfills in agreement with cities and municipalities, a field research will be conducted, which can be a guideline for future activities of cities and municipalities, and a web platform will be launched. The realization of the project will take place in the period from 15.11.2019. to 15.05.2021, while the total value of the project is 279,200.00 euros, of which the European Union finances 232,530.00 euros.

Workshop on the organization of volunteer events

On Monday, July 28, volunteers of the NGO Our action, respecting the limitations of covid measures, filled the hall and took part in a workshop on the organization of volunteer events in the community. The workshop was organized by the Secretariat for Culture, Sports and Social Activities of the Municipality of Kotor in cooperation with the Youth Council, and the lecturer was Tomislav Zegura, a longtime youth worker and activist.

Round table: “The role and importance of non-formal education”

The Secretariat for Culture, Sports and Social Activities of the Municipality of Kotor, through the Youth Council, organized a round table: “The role and importance of non-formal education”. The lecturer is a long-time youth worker and a favorite among young people, Tomislav Zegura. Our members took an active part in this workshop and are always happy to respond to extracurricular educational activities.
