Team building through volunteerism at Ocean Lava Montenegro

For the fourth year in a row, the young team of the NGO Naša akcija provided full support to Ocean Lava Montenegro, which is held every year in Kotor. This year, the focus of this very long and hard triathlon competition was teamwork. Research by Salesforce says that: “86% of employees believe that the largest number of mistakes in the workplace occur due to lack of mutual cooperation or inefficient communication.” Accordingly, we want to develop in young people exactly the skills they will need for the future, and a great place for that are events like this. The activity was implemented under the “Life Skills” program implemented by the NGO Naša akcija through the support of the European Endowment for Democracy.

Bicycle repair workshop

As part of the European Mobility Week, and with the financial support of the European Endowment for Democracy and with the support of the Municipality of Tivat and the Youth Team Tivat, yesterday we organized a bicycle repair workshop, through “Life skills” activities.
As the workshop spontaneously took place repairing bicycles, mounting tires, lubricating belts, so we continued to the Open-Air Library where people at the bicycle repair workshop brought books as their own donation! We can say that yesterday we did two activities in one together

New volunteers in the organization

We are extremely happy that a dozen new volunteers have joined us in the already well-coordinated team! Yesterday proved that young people want various activities that do not concern the online world, but are interested in socializing, actions and fun with new friends. Join us at one of the next workshops, actions, trainings. You are all welcome! This activity is supported by the European Endowment for Democracy.

Boka heritage: The tradition of wooden boats

Young people are still interested in old skills and heritage! In the workshop of Master Vitomir Vujović in Prčanj, a team of young people who wanted to attend a workshop on making wooden boats gathered to learn more about this old craft. This two-hour workshop included a lot of history, geometry, details about construction and materials, tradition and profession, and that knowledge was passionately passed on by Master Vitomir. After the lecture, the team present had numerous questions and showed great interest and respect for the details of this craft. This third workshop in a row within the program “Youth and Cultural Heritage” aims to encourage as many young people as possible to discover, research and get to know the traditions of Boka and its heritage, which was definitely achieved last night. This activity is organized with the support of the Municipality of Kotor and the European Endowment for Democracy in celebration of the European Heritage Day in 2021, and it has realized another measure of the Local Action Plan for the Youth of Kotor.
